FAQs
The Axis has a little more give than Court2 — and a slightly thinner insole that creates a touch more volume in the shoe. It moves with your foot through every cut and change of direction. A good court shoe should feel different from a thick-cushioned running shoe. You want it snug and secure — held in place for the dynamic lateral movement pickleball demands.
Both shoes are built on the same Dynamic Stability Assist™ platform and share our signature contoured footbed — the deep heel seat, engineered arch cushioning and met-dome that players say keeps them on the court longer. The difference is feel and upper construction. Axis has a soft, breathable performance mesh upper that flexes with you, while Court2 has a more structured, locked-in fit built for high-drag, high-intensity players. Same stability foundation. Different personality.
Running shoes are built for forward motion and tennis shoes are designed for different court demands — neither is optimized for pickleball's quick lateral cuts, sudden stops, and multi-directional movement. Wearing the wrong shoe can limit your performance. The Axis is specifically engineered for how pickleball actually moves.
Heel drop is the difference in height between the heel and forefoot of the shoe. Axis features a 5 mm heel drop, which positions it in the low-to-moderate range — closer to the ground, better for lateral stability, and more natural-feeling during the side-to-side movements that define pickleball. Lower heel drops encourage a more balanced foot strike and enhance agility; higher drops add heel cushioning for players who prefer it.
Pickleball demands lateral cuts, explosive stops, and rapid pivots — movements that running shoes and cross-trainers simply aren't built for. Pickleball-specific shoes like Axis have reinforced lateral support, court-optimized outsole patterns, and a stability platform designed for how the game actually moves. The right shoe doesn't just protect your game — it makes you more agile and confident on court.
Our 30-Day Match-Fit Promise means you can test your Axis in a real match, during practice, in your actual game. If they're not right for any reason within 30 days of purchase, return them — even if you've played in them. We want you to be completely confident in your choice.
